Fluorescence Microscopy

The lab uses a variety of fluorescence microscopy techniques to pursue its research goals, including:

Multi-color live cell imaging
Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP)
Fluorescence loss in photobleaching (FLIP)
Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS)
Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET)
Fluorescence protease protection (FPP)
Total internal reflection microscopy (TIRF)
Photoactivation

These techniques are performed on the following microscope system platforms used by the lab:

Zeiss LSM 510
Zeiss ConfoCor 2
Zeiss LSM 510 META Two photon
Leica SP2 laser scanning confocal
Perkin-Elmer UltraVIEW Spinning disk confocal
Olympus FLUOVIEW FV1000
PALM TIRF microscope
